What is tenants by the entirety?

Video Transcript

Tenants by the Entirety is a form of joint ownership exclusive to a husband and wife. If you own assets in the state of Florida with a spouse, there’s a presumption that it’s owned as Tenants by the Entireties. Tenants by the Entireties property is protected from the claims and creditors of one spouse, so if there is a judgment or a lawsuit or some type of creditor, the creditor cannot take the asset because the asset’s owned by both spouses.
